Hey there, thanks for stopping by…
I’m Julia and I work as a clinical psychologist.
I enjoy my work because it gives me immense purpose to journey with others some of the most difficult periods of their lives and to witness their growth.
One of the most memorable moments in my career was during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I worked with a group of refugees. With no access to the internet and restrictions on in-person meetings, I could only hear my clients’ voices over the phone, via a translator. I soon learned about the depths of human sufferings and how they transcend social, cultural, and even physical boundaries. Perhaps just as much, how resilience and hope can exist alongside it.
In my practice, I work with individuals experiencing persistent depression, anxiety, trauma, and attachment-related difficulties. I also support children and adults with ADHD, for both assessment and therapy.
I also work with clients across different countries and cultural backgrounds. Having lived and worked in diverse communities, I’m mindful of how culture, language, and family values shape the way we experience distress and healing.
My clients often described sessions with me as warm, kind, and safe, with the occasional challenges when unhelpful patterns and painful feelings emerge as we navigate through them together. I also share knowledge along the way and, when needed, work with other professionals like psychiatrists, social workers, or school counsellors to make sure you’re well supported.
To manage the inevitable stresses of work, I turn to my hobbies, loved ones, nature, discussions with peers and supervisors, and trainings and talks to keep my knowledge and skills fresh.
Whether you’re thinking to start or return to therapy, I hope this journey is a meaningful and empowering one to you.
